“Wait, seriously? People do things like THAT???”
The conversation unfolded via a messaging service, yet I could almost see her wide, blue eyes bulging in my mind’s eye.
I sigh.
“Well, yes… well, fortunately those are exceptions… but why do you think our terms and conditions, which initially were just about three sentences on the deposit form, now fill an entire page?”
She was flabbergasted.
Welcome to reality
Over the past two years, the terms and conditions of our second-hand store have evolved based on our experiences and ongoing learning. Initially: four simple lines on the deposit form. Today: One A4 page, still evolving. Fortunately, during our delicates startup phase we hadn’t encountered any major issues that could have easily jeopardized our existence.
While general conditions rarely target the kind-hearted individuals, endowed with a certain savoir-faire and above all common sense – and this constitutes the overwhelming majority of our clients – it’s the unexpected, unforeseen situations with the lonely exceptions that can create stress for both parties. Because the person on the other side has their own reality, just as valid as ours. It is simply based on values that are not ours.
Our terms and conditions primarily evolve for one reason: we take pride in offering quality service and hospitality.
Stepping through the door of ALBUM & Papillons should be a magical experience, filled with peace, patience, and kindness, and for that to happen, it must start with our team. For a balanced, happy, respected, and respectful team, welcoming with a genuine, warm smile is second nature. It’s the ambiance in the store that transforms your visit into a soothing and enjoyable experience. A team overwhelmed by negative energies coming from isolated individuals will not be able to provide a positive feeling for those who deserve the best version of ourselves.
